Pesantren is a "prison"; which thoughts, ideas, and socio-cultural movement running dynamicly. These potential is growth from two things: (1) consistency and independence, (2) public trust for Pesantren. Beside a progression of pesantren for it ideas and reform movements, a values of religion succes building a charisma and a big influence in public.
Religiosity of the islamic boarding school seemed from "a society"-in this case students. Teachings and religious values that continue to be transformed through education so formed a unique culture and genuin.
In its history, the culture of pesantren was able to manifest in the reality of society. Pesantren, at least, managed to contribute order and moral-ethical values which then held by the public.
The role of pesantren which makes it as the basis for all activities. All matters relating to aspects of religious, social, educational, economic and even political relies on pesantren.
The big contributions from pesantren make people give up most of his Islamic faith to pesantren. Leader of pesantren-kiai, ustadz or teacher, and students-are the foundation of society on various problems faced daily.
The problem is, public trust to pesantren are now beginning to erode. One of them is no longer due to pesantren are on track. Some suspect pesantren "negligent" in his duties as a "goal" of islam on Indonesian. This criticism, it seems, departing from reality, many prominent of pesantren are too engrossed in the political area, craving for power, cultural decadence and morality.
